I started this blog for a few reasons:
(1)For myself as I track my journey from relaxed hair to natural hair.
(2)To encourage women (who are having problems with their chemically treated hair) to go natural...as I am doing. I'm hoping going natural will finally be the answer to all of my hair woes. Relaxers just seemed to compromise my already fragile hair.
(3)To offer healthy hair tips and tricks for women and girls.
(4)To share information on hair types and products best suited for our needs.
(5)I believe that even though we may share hair types with women all over the world, sometimes our hair needs can vary depending on where we live. In Houston, we have hot, humid weather almost year round and we also have very hard water. This means that we'll need products to reduce frizz, products that will help hold our styles if we decide to straighten our hair, and products that will remove buildup from hard water.
I haven't been able to find any websites dedicated to women with natural kinky/coily/curly hair in the Houston area so WE ARE FINALLY HERE! : )
